Sometimes we are uncomfortable contacting anyone when we need help! Many of us feel guilt, shame and have bought into the stigma that we are weak and can't control ourselves. This is a false premise typically perpetrated by people who do not have the disease, but they DO have A LOT to say about it.
They say we are choosing to use substances over everything else in life!!!
The science is very clear: Through no fault of our own, we have developed a disease that chooses us, we do not choose the disease. 50% of the risk factor is inherited DNA from our ancestors which we obviously have no control over.
HOWEVER, we do have to make a CHOICE in deciding whether we want to live a life of addiction or achieve sustained sobriety, and that often takes significant time in processing the information we share that will ultimately effect cognitive change.
We provide a comfortable space for people to feel at ease and be willing to open up and share their struggles in a safe, discreet environment. Confidentiality is paramount!
